How it all began?

Our कथा (Story)

Aatma Nirbhar Society was born from the vision of Shree Ranjeet Chaturvedi (Pathak), affectionately known as Yamunaputra, during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic. Witnessing the resilience and selflessness of individuals and communities across India, he was inspired to create a movement dedicated to self-reliance and environmental stewardship. Rooted in the ancient wisdom of India and the belief in the power of collective action, Aatma Nirbhar Society aims to revive the purity of natural elements and foster a culture of sustainability.
One of the most poignant stories was that of Jyothi Kumari, who cycled over a thousand kilometers carrying her father from Delhi to Bihar. Acts of courage and determination like hers fueled the foundation of Aatma Nirbhar Society, reflecting the true spirit of self-reliance and collective action.

The term “Aatmanirbhar,” emphasized by our honourable Prime Minister, translates to self-reliance, encouraging us to take responsibility for our survival by reducing dependence on other countries and external entities. This shift in mindset is essential for India's progress. However, it wasn't just the Prime Minister's words that led to the formation of Aatma Nirbhar Society. The multitude of actions undertaken by civil society across India during the pandemic—helping each other, distributing food, providing medical aid—showcased humanity's resilience and compassion, inspiring us to create this self-help group.
Aatma Nirbhar Society aims to unite like-minded individuals and organizations who believe in 'Doing' rather than merely 'Complaining or Making Suggestions'. Our mission is to mobilize a large group of volunteers and social workers to address and eliminate the severe pollution issues plaguing our nation—transforming the world’s most polluted river (Yamuna), the world’s most polluted air (Delhi NCR), and the world’s most polluted ocean front (Arabian Sea off Mumbai coast).
Through our efforts, we strive to create a brighter, more sustainable future, drawing from the rich traditions and ancient knowledge of India. By harnessing the collective spirit of self-reliance, we aim to inspire others to join us in our mission for a better world.
