MAHANADI YAMUNA MAHAUTSAV

Celebrating the presence of YAMUNA in our Life on the most pious land of this planet – Mathura. The occasion was dedicated to the Divine Daughter of Surya, Sister of Yama and Shani, and the Queen Consort of Shri Krishna.

Hon’ble Prime Minister of the India highlighted the importance of rivers in our lives at the All India Mayor Conference in Benaras. He said, “It is our duty to protect the rivers and celebrating the “Nadi Utsav”, a river festival which will bring a new energy in every city”

So, never before in History was such an event held in Mathura deciated to this Divine Form of Yamuna. The two day event organized by Project Aatmanirbhar and associates in Mathura saw participants from over 5 states, through which the river Yamuna flows. People from Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh were invited as special guests who had supported the Project Aatmnirbhar 620 km Foot Pilgrimage in the previous year of 2021. This was Yamuna’s way of bringing all her children together. 

The two day mega festival witnessed : A Staged Theater Drama titled ‘Yami aur Hum’ was presented showcasing the plight of Yamuna and how peoples ignorance and carelessness coverted the most pure River into the Worlds Most Polluted. The Drama was conducted by Rang Saarthi Studio of Delhi and a beautifyl message was conveyed to people. 

A “Magic Show” organized by Hari Yamuna Samiti Ponta Sahib, by world famous magician Jaadugar Raj Kumar enthralled the crowd with his performance titled “An Evening of Magic dedicated to Mother Yamuna – the Art of Impossible”. Jaadugar Raj Kumar took inspiration from Shri Krishna as the world’s greatest magician. 

A mega “Aarti” was broadcasted from Vishram Ghat and Rajaghat. Thousands of devotees of Yamuna along-with holy Seers and Saints from all over the country participated in this divine fire ritual. 

Guinness World Record holder Padmashree Dr. Yella Vaikateshwar Rao, Member of Tirupati Devasthan Board since 1979 made a divine presentation titled “Yamuna Kalyani” with 11 musical instruments in the honour of the divine Yamuna. Dr Yella and his team showcased the power of music and hypnotised the spectators in awe. 

It was a Special Sunrise in Mathura, as the divine mythological ghats of Mathura showed the world real power of Yoga. For the first time in the history of Yoga, special needs children “Divyang” from Vaishishtyam Special School – Vatsalyagram (Vrindavan) and Dr. Dhananjay Tiwari’s students performed the worlds first ever “Divyangyag Yog”. This was followed by an all girls NCC Cadets team led by “Veerta the Youth Power of India” from delhi to perform the first ever “Suryaputri’s Surya Namaskar”, symbolizing Yamuna performing the Yogasana for her father Surya. 

Project Aatmanirbhar team and its guests participated in a “ShobhaYatra”, an age old tradition of Mathura, organized by Mathur Chaturved Parishad (a 100 year old organization), in which the devotees of Yamuna thronged the streets with traditional music and created an atmosphere of devotion and prayers in the honour of Yamuna. Thousands of people witnessed this special foot march meandering through the narrow streets of Mathura spreading joy, happiness and devotion.

A musical treat “BrajRas Sangeet” was presentated in honour of Yamuna by son of the soil, Hemant Brijwasi, who in 2009, at age 11, won the television contest for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs. Then in 2018, at age 20, he won the television contest Rising Star 2. His bollywood performances as a playback singer for films Soorma (2018) and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi was appreciated throught the country. A special version of Yamunashtak, a hymn composed by Sri Vallabhacharya for Yamuna, was performed by Brij-Rasik Prashant Chaturvedi

A demonstartion of live paitning “Kalanjali” encapsulating the life and connection of Krishna with Yamuna was organised by Draupadi Dream Trust. Artists from Delhi travelled to Mathura and kept the audince in awe as they carefully and passionately created masterpieces while sitting in lap of Yamuna.
