Mera Kartavya

A historic moment unfolded in Mathura as Project Aatmanirbhar Society and the National Cadet Corps (NCC) came together to undertake a momentous campaign  titled – “YAMUNA KE LIYE KARTAVYA NIBHANE KA AVSAR! JAGANE AAYE NCC AUR PROJECT AATMANIRBHAR!”
Ranjeet Chaturvedi Pathak, the driving force behind Project Aatmanirbhar Society, and Colonel Shyam Bihari Singh Yadav from Mathura NCC UP Battalion 11 set the tone for this campaign  with a strong emphasis on “Kartavya” (Duty) towards our environment and the cultural heritage embodied by River Yamuna for people of Mathura and millions of people across the nation.

The mission was to minimize waste generation in Mathura on the Janamashtmi Mahotsav 2024 in which, as per media reports, 2.5 million visitors were expected in Mathura. Each member of Project Aatmanirbhar and NCC Cadets embarked on a door-to-door campain, visiting every commercial space in Mathura, armed with stickers containing an Oath and Yamuna Rakshak (Protectors of Yamuna) Hand bands. Each shop keeper took an oath to ensure that no waste was generated around them and proper use of dust bins would be ensured.

The event culminated with a solemn oath-taking ceremony at the Vishram Ghat, where every cadet pledged to uphold the principles of cleanliness and environmental responsibility. This collaborative effort between Project Aatmanirbhar Society and the NCC represents a significant step towards a cleaner and greener future for the Yamuna River. The campaign aims to awaken every individual’s sense of duty towards nature and heritage.

The journey began with a commitment to instill awareness and social education on Yamuna conservation. The dedicated team, comprising NCC Alumni, Local Residents, NCC Cadets, and the Project Aatmanirbhar team, embarked on an extensive mission covering Mathura and Vrindavan.
