Welcome to a pioneering project designed to establish the Yamuna Valley in Uttarakhand (India) as the “World’s First Herbal Ayurvedic Valley.” Led by over 1,000 resilient women from 29 villages, this initiative spans three diverse agro-climatic zones, aiming to turn the valley’s natural landscape into a thriving meadow of medicinal plants.
Why Yamuna Valley?
Nestled at altitudes between 750 m and 2622 m, the Yamuna Valley boasts a variety of microclimates—each ideal for cultivating unique medicinal plants. The high-altitude, pristine environment, with minimal pollution, creates optimal conditions that maximize the therapeutic potency of each plant, enhancing their wellness and health benefits.
Women at the Heart of Our Mission
The women in these 29 villages, renowned for their agricultural expertise, bring to this initiative a legacy of hard work and resilience. For generations, they have nurtured the land, passing down knowledge essential for sustainable agriculture. They are the driving force behind this transformation, converting barren lands into fields rich with medicinal and aromatic plants.
